White Peacock Arts World in the Xicheng District is called by some as “The Carpet Kingdom”.  For years, Beijingers have come here to buy rugs and carpets for their homes. .

The store carries a full range of items. In addition to carpets and rugs, they also have hand sown bed coverings of various patterns, sizes, and fabrics, all exquisitely made in Henan, capital of Chinese silk weaving.

Prices start from around 1000 Yuan for some of the smaller rugs. Although the larger highly decorated rugs rise up to several hundred thousand RMBs. The shop assistant told me that the carpets and rugs are all hand-made, and some took over 2 years to complete.

There is a carpet loom at the center of the store, showcasing how carpets are weaved by hand. Overseas delivery service is available upon request, which shall take less than 3 days.
