Jinfengchengxiang is a famous bakery franchise in Beijing. It originates from Taiwan. It produces salty cakes, sweet cakes, various kinds of cookies, and birthday cakes.
To the difference of other bakeries, the shop offers a kind of Chinese pastry named Laopobing (老婆饼). It is made of winter melon, sugar, and flour. The color is golden, the taste is mild sweet. According to folk lore, it has been popular from the Qing dynasty. The Laopobing comes in three different tastes: sweet, red bean sha, and sticky rice. I tasted all three, and I became a repeat customer. A box of 12 pieces costs RMB 10.
The environment is nice and clean. You can have a cup of coffee in the bakery as you enjoy your cakes. The shop assistants are all hospitable. Their uniforms are white and clean.
