Chinese charcoal art does not enjoy long histories like calligraphy or brush painting, but they do have a good following in Chinese cities. Klinart is a popular brand of charcoal carved artworks in China, featuring oriental designs.

Charcoal carvings come on black plates, upon which various designs are carved in red, green, gold, white, blue lines. Patterns at Klinart include gorgeous peony flowers, legendary phoenixes, and beautiful arts of clouds. Most designs are distinctively Chinese in style

While examining the beautiful works of art, the shop assistant told me the charcoals used in the carvings absorb unhealthy molecules in the nearby air, but do not emit any toxic elements itself. She also claimed that the effects of Klinart charcoal carvings last longer than those at other stores.

Prices for Regular carvings range from RMB 200 to RMB 500. However, their featured artworks, which are absolutely amazing to look at, are quite a bit more expensive, between RMB 20000 to RMB 30000.
