Traditional Chinese Fast Food

Banmuyuan, a famous Chinese fast food chain originated from Taiwan, owns dozens of restaurants in Beijing. Unlike most other Chinese fast food restaurants, Banmuyuan provides a quiet and distinctive Chinese atmosphere for customers. The restaurant I frequent is located in the Haidian district in northwest Beijing.

You can order nine types of dishes from their special menu, including various noodles, lunch combos, appetizers, drinks, and desserts. Recently, I have taken a liking to their traditional beef noodle soup (RMB 10). 

Prices for noodles dishes ranged from RMB 10 to RMB 32. The hospitable waitresses told me that customers generally spend about RMB 25 each. 

She could not speak English, but non-Chinese speakers could order using the detailed pictures on the menu..
