He Who Eats This, Lives Long

GouBuLi Steamed Stuffed Bun is a very famous Beijing restaurant. During the Qing dynasty, Queen CiXi composed a poem for their special steamed stuffed buns. The general idea is that no food tastes better than GouBuLi, and he who eats GouBuLi lives long.

The restaurant offers set meals for RMB 20, 22, and 25. They serve nine steamed stuffed buns with a bowl of rice and bean gruel, and a plate of pickles. The meals with steamed pork-stuffed buns are RMB 20. If you prefer your bun stuffed with seafood, it will cost you RMB 22. And if you are bent on eating wild vegetables, the fare will be RMB 25.
