Moviegoing experience in a modern cinema

Jinyi International Cinema, newly-built in 2005, situates in the middle of the Zhongguancun business center. This five-star cinema, through 6 different screens, can cater to over 800 moviegoers at any given time.

Huge movie posters dominated the entrance to the theater. The most prominent of which was the latest big-budget action film ‘Warlords’, featuring Jet Li and Andy Lau. My friends and I came to watch this movie because I loved the actors.

Ticket prices ranged from RMB 60 to RMB 200, depending on the location of the seat. We bought the RMB 60 tickets for Warlords, and went inside.

In the theater, we bought some coke and popcorn to enjoy the movie with. They were overpriced, to be sure. But it was no different from any other theater. The assistant told me that this theater provided one of the best movie-going experience for Beijingers, with its comfortable seating and the most modern video-audio system.

The theater did live up to its billing. The movie, unfortunately, did not.
