I stopped by Shang Yun Xun Teahouse while strolling around. While there are many teahouses in Beijing, Shang Yun Xun stands out for its ancient d¨¦cor, and Old Beijing atmosphere. The surroundings at Nan Xin Cang only accentuate this timeless feel to the teahouse.
Shang Yun Xuan has a beautiful courtyard, decorated with bamboo plants and clean sandalwood table and chairs for a great outdoor dining experience. Upon entering the restaurant, a nice and hospitable assistant greeted me. She took the time to thoroughly introduce their teas to me. They serve a full range of teas varieties: green, black, light, red, herbal and scented teas. They cover all the top brands of teas in China: Pu Er, West Lake Longjing, Tie Guan Yin, Qi Men Hong Cha, Bi Luo Chun, and O¡¯Long.
Upon sitting down, the relaxing atmosphere certainly offers a great diversion to the bustling outside world. Here you get to listen to classical Chinese music, watch tea arts performance, smell subtle aromas of various teas, all while drinking your tea.
Shang Yun Xuan¡¯s Prices vary greatly, depending on the quality of tea you request, ranging from RMB 200 to RMB 12800. It also sells tea pillows, a sort of pillow filled with scented tea leaves to preserve health, with the price at RMB 180 for a pair.
