Hongcaowan¡¯er is a popular Chinese brand for traditional clothes. It has more than 10 outlets in Beijing. The brand targets women from 20 to 45 years old. When I stepped into the shop near Beijing Institute of Technology, I found myself also deeply drawn to the clothes.
The brand emphasizes traditional Chinese culture and fashion elements. The window display at the entrance shows off new arrivals, especially stylish Qipaos, a traditional Chinese women's one-piece dress.
The clothes are made of pure cotton. The shop assistant recommends a fashionable Qipao, which I personally like very much. Its design featurs tiny, light blue-colored flowers sewn along blue lines. What makes it stand out from others to me is the large neckband and a triangle bottom. This elegant Qipao was prices at RMB 298.
According to the shop assistant, they also offer custom-tailoring service. All you need to do is paying for some labor cost, and pick up the finished clothes in 4 or 5 days.
What I appreciated:
Traditional Chinese Qipao with a bit modern design
What customers appreciate:
Custom-made Qipao with high quality
A folk handicraft shop near the eastern gate of the Forbidden City
A Newly-built Clothing Market to Sell Traditional Chinese Items at Reasonable Prices
Something to wear for leisure or business
Buy low priced Silk and learn its history
