First, there is a large selection of fabrics to choose from: cotton, wool, cashmere, linen, silk, and satin fabric. In addition, there is already a variety of original-design dresses and suits. Their selections include western suits, office garments, skirts, Qipaos, and night gowns. The shop’s main selling point, though, is the exquisite workmanship.

The owner is a very experienced dressmaker. She spent years honing her skills at the Ruifuxiang Fabric Store, a time-honored fabric and garment store with over 100 years of history. Her expertise makes the store very popular among its clientele. And because of her experience of dealing with foreign customers, she can speak a little English.

Prices are reasonable, plain-designed jackets start at under RMB 100. However, ornate night gowns can cost over RMB 10,000. Custom made dresses and suits normally take 3 to 4 days to complete. The store also sells handcrafted bags and buttons, for customers who want matching accessories.
