Art Embroidery sells hand-made embroidery patterns. The threads are so thin that one cannot tell if the patterns are painted or embroidered if not looking close enough.
Formats range from A4 to 60x100 cm. You can also bring your favorite pictures and place a special order. A fantastic idea for a gift to someone you truly love!
Be prepared to wait though: due to the extreme care with which the embroidery artists render your design, it will take months to complete an order. The time it takes depends on how big your picture is, and its level of detail.
The final result is all that counts though: your unique piece will be of such artistic quality that the waiting is worth it.
Since your stay in China is likely to be shorter, the shop can ship the artwork back to you when it is ready. You pay for postage when you place your order.
A big embroidery picture of Mona Lisa caught my eye. I had seen the original in Paris, and I have to say that the artist did a marvelous job. The shop assistant told me that this work took the gold medal at the Shenzhen Culture and Arts Exposition. And yes, I got the sticker shock: RMB 10,000,000. But it took the artist no less that 10 years to make it...
