Playboy in Beijing – Not what you may think

Although most certainly a world-renowned brand, Playboy doesn’t have exactly the connotation in China as it does in western countries. Instead, Playboy shops in China offer leather accessories, like luggage bags, purses, wallets, and straps.

You can see for yourself at one of its Beijing outlets, such as one located on the 1st floor of An’zhen Hualian Plaza. All merchandises are fully displayed on the shelves, some with 12% discounts.

Playboy's leather bags, made from quality cow skin, are mainly designed for male clients. Black and brown are the colors of choice. The cow leather used is soft and very sturdy.

Their merchandises for women mainly focus on satchels and purses. The colors include pink, yellow and black. According to the shop assistant, those satchels are designed for office ladies ages 25 to 50.

Wallets and male handbags cost between RMB 300 and RMB 600. The satchels cost RMB 300 to RMB 1200. The shop assistants can speak a little English.
