As weather gets cold, you need a scarf to keep your neck warm. Last week, I found a good scarf shop near the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, which had a romantic name: Woo. There, you can easily find a suitable scarf or shawl for yourself.
I entered the shop, and immediately found the decorations appealing: paintings and picture frames were hanging on the white walls, and fine scarves of different colors were tidily displayed on wooden tables, shelves, and bamboo poles.
July, the shop manager, came and warmly greeted me. She told me that this store was run by a Shanghai-based company. Their experienced designers were trained in Italy. The style of the scarves combines modern concepts with traditional Chinese elements.
She showed me some of their best-selling products. She picked up a purple-colored scarf featuring a pattern of double fish and ancient coins. In China, fish represents a surplus of wealth and happiness, and coins symbolize fortune. I touched it gently, and it felt very soft and comfortable.
Then she showed me a bigger black-and-blue shawl. The pattern on it was Lingzhi, a famous Chinese herbal medicine representing longevity. It could be folded and put around neck as a scarf, or unfolded and be worn as a jacket. It also had a button, which could be used to keep the shawl from falling.
These were just two items from their large collection. If you want to visit this shop to find a scarf you like, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Another good news: Manager July can speak fluent English!
