With an outlet on the 2nd floor of Huatang Plaza, Bossini offers modern fashion for young ladies and teenagers in the capital. This Hong Kong brand, which uses designs from both China and the west, is popular in many Asian countries.

As I examined the clothes inside the store, I found the main hues used are white, orange, black, and pink. The new arrivals were displayed neatly on the racks by the entrance. While towards the back, I found a clearance on offseason clothes at 60% off.

The shop assistant recommended me a white casual shirt made of cotton, terelyne, and sticky fiber. This shirt, with a black tie in the front, looked simple but fashionable (RMB 300).

On the discount rack I found a strap in red and black. After the 60% discount, it¡¯s only RMB 35.

The shop assistants could speak a little English with foreign customers.

When it comes selling products, Snoopy certainly shines more than the other Peanuts characters like Charlie Brown or Woodstock. In fact, while many Chinese know about Snoopy, they¡¯re not familiar at all with the rest of the gang. But if Snoopy products is what you want, visit the very first Snoopy Official-Exclusive Shop in Beijing on WangFuJing Street. They offer a large selection of items featuring Snoopy, from clothes to toys to car ornaments.

The shop assistants recommended me a romantic pink Snoopy Cushion with Snoopy hugging heart. Very comfy cushion with a super soft touch, and priced at RMB 188.

The prices basically range from RMB 80 to RMB 700. Though the assistants do not speak English, they don¡¯t really have to. Just ask Snoopy.

Located near the Beijing Zoo, Shijitianle wholesale market is very well known to locals for its huge selection of clothing at discount prices.

With four floors full of stalls, the place is absolutely huge. The 1st and 2nd floor offers mainly attire for young women, such as jeans and dresses. I visited a stall that specializes in traditional Chinese attire, and picked out a frock that costs about RMB 120 after haggling. Made from mainly cotton and silk, this frock would price at well over RMB 200 at malls and department stores.

The 3rd floor offers men¡¯s wear, while the 4th floor offers clothes for older women. There is also a basement, where you can find various kinds of shoes.

Please note that all prices can be further bargained, sometimes by quite a bit. Apart from my own experience, I saw a fellow shopper who took home a pair of shoes for RMB 25. The label price was RMB 50.

So make sure you haggle!

Upon entering the store, I saw newly designed dresses and some discounted  clothes near the entrance. The racks held a large selection of both business and casual attire.

I pick out a cotton skirt on sale, with a nice colorful figure in the front. After the 70% discount, it costs RMB 98. Without discounts, the apparels at Claries would cost RMB 50 to RMB 400.

Compared with other well-known international brands, Kappa sportswear are more adjustable to your figure and make you look more fit.

I went to the Kappa shop on the 5th floor of Anzhen Hualian Plaza. Some of the older autumn merchandise displayed at the front of the store at a discount, while new arrivals for winter hung neatly on the walls.

Inside, I picked out a pair of deep blue sports trousers for women priced at RMB 428. It was surprisingly thick and warm, with two red thin lines sewn on each side. The main material included terylene and a little cotton. The shop assistant then showed me their most popular female apparel this winter, a wadded jacket with simple black design a tiny logo on each sleeve. The price was RMB 698 for a female style,  a similar jacket for men with the same pattern cost RMB 876.

As gymnastics is one of the most popular sports in China, Olympic gold medal-winning gymnasts enjoy quite a lot of fame. Li Xiao Shuang, China's first Olympic gymnastics all-around champion, used this fame to open his own line of sportswear - Lixs.

There is a Lixs shop located on the 5th floor of Anzhen Hualian Plaza, right next to the escalator. The shop carries sportswear, hats, bags, shoes, etc.  Although Lixs cannot compete in name-recognition with juggernauts like Nike or Adidas, it does have the advantage of a much lower price, while still maintaining a high level of quality in most people's opinions.

Inside the shop, two walls of the shop displays sports clothes, while the shelves in the middle hold shoes, hats, and bags. Although you cannot bargain, the store has a section where clearance items get a 40% discount.

Seasky has become quite popular in Beijing, with several outlets here. One outlet is located on the 2nd floor of Anzhen Hualian Plaza, where I found plenty of modern women apparel, especially skirts.

As I looked around the store, it was obvious Seasky's favorite colors are black and white. The shop assistant recommended me a skirt with these two hues: black stripes with a white bottom (RMB 598). The material is 100% cotton, and the tailoring looked very good. I felt the price a bit expensive, personally. However, Seasky has a large number of loyal consumers who love their unique designs.

The racks featured the new arrivals, but there were also plenty of offseason clothes to choose from at 50% discount. Regular prices ranged from RMB 400 to RMB 800.

Beijing pictures, Hongcaowan'er chain shop

Hongcaowan¡¯er is a popular Chinese brand for traditional clothes. It has more than 10 outlets in Beijing. The brand targets women from 20 to 45 years old. When I stepped into the shop near Beijing Institute of Technology, I found myself also deeply drawn to the clothes.

The brand emphasizes traditional Chinese culture and fashion elements. The window display at the entrance shows off new arrivals, especially stylish Qipaos, a traditional Chinese women's one-piece dress.

The clothes are made of pure cotton. The shop assistant recommends a fashionable Qipao, which I personally like very much. Its design featurs tiny, light blue-colored flowers sewn along blue lines. What makes it stand out from others to me is the large neckband and a triangle bottom. This elegant Qipao was prices at RMB 298.

According to the shop assistant, they also offer custom-tailoring service. All you need to do is paying for some labor cost, and pick up the finished clothes in 4 or 5 days.

I picked out a black one-piece business dress, priced at RMB 724, which is fairly representative of their design. The dress looked both casual yet professional enough for work. It featured two long sleeves with a circular collar. The upper caddice shirt matched the cotton skirt very well.

To go along with the dresses, Jessica also offers leather shoulder bags. The bags come in several colors: red, yellow, pink, and white. They were priced at around RMB 500.
